SHCA Competition Rules, Section 12A.1.c.1 be amended as follows:
In First Ridden, cane to not exceed 40cm.
2.1 Adults Attire- Hats and Show Hunter Attire - Hats.
"On the day of competition the child identified on the entry will be only person permitted to ride the horse nominated for that entry prior to the Class being held."

Residency & Other Rules Applying to State Events
There appears to be some confusion on State Event rules due to not all being covered under SHC Competition Rules, reason is rules for State events can vary from State to State.
A State Title is looked upon as a prestige Event & should be treated as such. All rules are to be read in conjunction with other rules of the Show.

Some specific Rules are required to apply to all State Events including but not limited to:
Ownership
All horses shall be currently registered with the Show Horse Council of Australasia Inc. NATIONAL SADDLE HORSE REGISTER and shall be resident of & be owned by a resident of that State for a period of not less than three (3) calendar months prior to closing date of Entries.
Current Residency Rule is
. *Members residing within 100km of the border would be able to remain a member of the current affiliate club and with provision of a Stat. Dec. be able to
compete at the adjoining state’s “Horse Of The Year Show”. Proof of distance to be provided annually.
The States will need to monitor those HOTY Entries that are acceptable under this Rule to ensure compliance”.
Note: Entries not meeting the criteria will be considered ineligible.
Other States

If ANY Horse has competed in another State’s Horse Of The Year Show held in a calendar year, it is ineligible to compete in EITHER the OPEN HORSE Section or the OPEN SHOW HUNTER Section in that States Horse of The Year Show.

If a Rider has competed in another State’s Horse of the Year Show held in a calendar year, he/she is ineligible to compete in the RIDER Section of that States Horse of The Year Show.
Members are well catered for with many other GN Qualifiers for which these particular rules are not applicable.
